Mrs. Mome Mahlangu
Profile
Mrs. Mome Mahlangu is a multi-talented entrepreneur, author, wellness advocate, and former fashion stylist who built her name through a combination of bold personal style and unapologetic authenticity. She first stepped into the public eye through the Vuzu docu-reality show Cream Cartel, which ran between 2009 and 2010, and later starred in her own docu-reality series MoLove alongside her husband, comedian Mongezi Mahlangu.
Before television, she had already carved a name for herself in the fashion world. She co-founded Boyznbucks, a well-known collective that helped shape South Africa’s urban street fashion scene, and worked across TV ads, music videos, and magazine shoots as a prominent voice in entertainment and fashion.
A stroke she suffered around 2019 became a turning point in her life, leading her to completely overhaul her lifestyle and channel her recovery into launching Mome Wellness, a holistic health brand built around moringa superfoods and mindful living. She also stepped into authorship, writing Mome’s Depth of Black Love, a book she described as a guide for her children on protecting their mental health, and later co-authored Depth of Black Love & Journey to Wellness with Pastor Xolani Kika in 2023.
Mome is a mother of three children, a son and two daughters, and has been candid about navigating marriage, family trauma, and personal growth in the public eye. She and her husband celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary in 2024, having weathered a period of separation and ultimately reconciling with a renewed commitment to their relationship and family. Most recently, she has also launched Mome Wellness Wear, a clothing line described as a blend of loungewear and daily wear for the modern woman.
