Profile

Ms. Bontle MaAfrika Moloi is one of South Africa’s most celebrated multi-disciplinary artists. She is an actress, television presenter, radio personality, dancer, choreographer, singer, and model who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Corporate Communications from the University of Johannesburg. Her love for the arts started young, and she has since built a remarkable career that spans film, television, radio, and dance.

She starred in the 2015 dance film Hear Me Move, earning an Africa Movie Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and later became the head choreographer of JIVA!, the first African dance series on Netflix. She has choreographed for international stars like Kelly Rowland, served as the main choreographer for the African franchise of MTV’s Lip Sync Battle, and co-hosted the prestigious South African Music Awards (SAMAs).

Among her proudest achievements is founding the Bontle Modiselle Dance Studio in Johannesburg, a safe, nurturing space dedicated to passing on her knowledge and inspiring the next generation of dancers. She also made history by entering the Guinness World Records for the largest group performing a synchronised Amapiano dance at the Hector Pieterson Museum in Soweto. Her production company, Afrique In Motion (also known as Bontle Ba Afrika Productions), reflects her vision of creating content that makes a global impact from the African continent.

Bontle is married to South African rapper Ricardo Moloi and together they have one daughter. She describes herself as a mother, a mediator, a prayerful woman, and someone who genuinely loves people, balancing a powerhouse career with a deeply grounded personal life.
