Mariama Kamara is a Sierra Leonean social entrepreneur and clean energy pioneer committed to expanding sustainable access to electricity across her country. She is the Founder and Director of Smiling Through Light, a social enterprise that trains and empowers local women as solar technology entrepreneurs, enabling them to distribute solar powered lamps and energy solutions within their communities. Through this work, she addresses Sierra Leone’s low rural electrification rates while advancing a women centered model that positions women as leaders in the clean energy transition.
