Dr. Victoria Kisyombe

Dr. Victoria Kisyombe is a Tanzanian social entrepreneur, economist, and founder of Self-Reliance Women’s Fund (SRWf), a pioneering microfinance and women’s economic empowerment organization established in 1994 to strengthen the financial independence of women across Tanzania. Through SRWf, she has championed access to savings, credit, and business training for women in underserved communities, helping countless women grow small businesses, lift families out of poverty, and build leadership confidence. Her work has also included vocational training, mentoring, and advocacy for women’s inclusion in economic leadership. Dr. Kisyombe’s contributions to development and social impact have earned her recognition from organizations such as the World Economic Forum and other international development platforms promoting inclusive growth.
