Ms. Norah Magero is a Kenyan Mechanical Engineer and Renewable Energy Expert with over ten years of experience driving transformative off-grid energy solutions. As Co-founder and CEO of Drop Access, she spearheads initiatives that directly impact underserved communities. Her flagship innovation, Vaccibox, is an IoT-enabled, solar-powered portable refrigerator designed and manufactured in Kenya. VacciBox has bridged critical cold chain gaps, delivering nearly one million vaccines and life-saving medical supplies to over 100 remote Kenyan communities, with expansions to Tanzania, Zambia, and Côte d’Ivoire in progress.
Norah’s leadership extends beyond technology to empower farmers and women through productive use of energy, financing solar water pumps, and distributing clean cookstoves. Her work addresses energy equity while improving health outcomes, livelihoods, and local economies.
A 2024 TED Fellow, Norah is an alumna of YALI, Techwomen, and Acumen. Her accolades include the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation and being named among Kenya’s Top 40 Under 40 by Business Daily Africa. She serves on the UN’s Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition and has earned recognition from global leaders like former President Uhuru Kenyatta and USAID Administrator Samantha Power.
