Peagie Foday
Profile
Peagie Foday is a Sierra Leonean social entrepreneur, advocate for girls’ education, and founder of the Peagie Woobay Scholarship Fund PWSF, a nonprofit that empowers young girls and teenage mothers to continue their education and build brighter futures. Drawing from her own experience of becoming a teen mother at 15, she created the foundation in 2013 to support girls who would otherwise drop out of school by covering tuition, books, uniforms, and school materials. Beyond scholarships, her organization provides daycare services so young mothers can return to class, helps re enroll teen moms in school, and offers mentorship and vocational support that encourages creativity, skills building, and economic independence.
Peagie uses her lived experience to destigmatize teenage pregnancy and advocate for educational access and gender equity in Sierra Leone’s communities. Her foundation also engages in community outreach, sensitization efforts, and partnerships with global organizations to amplify support for girls and vulnerable youths. Through storytelling, mentorship, and tangible support systems, she inspires young women and mothers to pursue education and careers with confidence, resilience, and hope.
