Yemisi Akinbobola, a prominent Nigerian media entrepreneur and academic, achieved notableĀ recognition as the co-winner of the CNN African Journalist Award in 2016 for her exceptional sports reporting. Alongside her accomplishments in the media industry, she co-founded the African Women in the Media group, dedicated to supporting female African media content producers.
Akinbobola’s academic journey is equally impressive, having studied Creative Arts at the University of Maiduguri and earning her Masters in Media Production from Birmingham City University, where she later obtained her PhD in Media and Cultural Studies. She subsequently served as a visiting lecturer and researcher at the same institution.
Despite her professional commitments, Akinbobola prioritizes her role as a mother to her three wonderful children.
