Topsy Kola-Oyeneyin is a Partner and co-leader of McKinsey’s Payments Practice for the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMA) regions, driving initiatives to develop and scale innovative products and services for leading financial institutions and fintechs. Regarded as a thought leader in financial-services innovation, Topsy has co-authored reports focused on unlocking the potential of digital financial services in Africa.
With over 20 years of global experience, Topsy is recognized as a transformation expert, having collaborated extensively with financial institutions, regulators, and investors across Africa to develop ambitious growth programs and execute large-scale transformations. Prior to rejoining McKinsey, she held executive roles at a leading financial-services provider, overseeing an international banking business across nine countries, designing and implementing corporate transformation programs, and managing extensive operations networks.
Topsy’s impactful contributions extend beyond her professional endeavors. She served as the pioneer Head of the Central Bank’s shared services department, leading the successful design and implementation of Nigeria’s transformative payments program, known as “cashless Lagos.”
She’s a devoted wife and mother of two daughters, is dedicated to marrying digital innovation and the empowerment of young Africans to drive transformative change in African economies.
