Naa Ashorkor

Nisirine Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, a prominent Ghanaian Broadcast Journalist and Actor, boasts a multifaceted career as a specialized compère, TV producer, and content creator. With a strong commitment to advancing the well-being of women and children, she has emerged as a passionate advocate for sustainable development goals, particularly focused on girls’ education and the support of new mothers.

Since embarking on her broadcasting journey in 2008 as a youth and entertainment host, Naa Ashorkor has transitioned into championing the development of women and children, earning recognition as one of the 100 most influential women in Ghana. Her recent role as a mentor in the Africa Netpreneur Prize Initiative highlights her dedication to nurturing African entrepreneurs.

In the realm of public service, Naa Ashorkor has lent her voice to national initiatives such as the Covid-19 behavioral change campaign and the “See something, say something” antiterrorism initiative by the Government of Ghana.

In 2021, she launched her flagship TV show “We Got This Africa,” providing a platform for African women to share and learn from their experiences. Additionally, she co-authored, produced, and hosted “Tales from the Powder Room” and “Just The Law” series, addressing critical issues facing women and providing legal education to the public.

Naa Ashorkor’s talent extends beyond journalism, earning her the Best Actress award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role in Sparrow Production’s “The Perfect Picture” (2009). Her notable performances in award-winning movies such as “Scorned,” “Aloe Vera,” and “A Letter From Adam” have solidified her presence in the entertainment industry. She holds an MA in Public Relations, a BA in Communication Studies, and an LLB from the University of Ghana.
