Leila Bouamatou’s career in banking began as a Senior Financial Analyst at BMCE International BANK of London, followed by a role as an Auditor at Deloitte & Touch in Tunis. Presently, she leads the Treasury Department at GBM Bank of Mauritania, the foremost Corporate and Investment Bank in the country. In this capacity, she focuses on crafting long-term strategies for portfolio diversification through collaborations with multilateral sponsors and correspondents.
Leila holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Business School Lausanne in Switzerland, a DBA from the Fox School of Business, and a Master’s Degree in Finance and Audit from EADA Barcelona. Additionally, she earned an Executive MBA from the Mediterranean School of Business in Tunisia. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Arabic, Leila’s linguistic proficiency enhances her global engagement.
Leila serves on the boards of various regional and international foundations, including the Foundation Bouamatou, the Women for Africa Foundation, and the MHB 1953 Foundation. Through these affiliations, she passionately advocates for providing educational opportunities for young African women. Leila is also a devoted mother of two boys.
