Gbemisola Abudu

Gbemisola Abudu is a distinguished business leader, luxury marketing expert, and social activist with a wealth of experience spanning 17 years across Nigeria, the Middle East, and the U.S. Currently serving as the NBA Africa Vice President and Country Head of NBA Nigeria, she spearheads the league’s basketball and business development initiatives. In this role, she oversees grassroots programming for youth, elite player development, and fosters relationships with marketing, media, and merchandise partners.

Gbemisola is renowned for her innovative approach, having launched the NBA meets Culture platform, integrating culture into the NBA’s positioning in Nigeria and orchestrating the successful 2023 NBA All-Star Afrobeats-themed halftime show.

Recognized for her significant contributions, Gbemisola was named one of Sports Illustrated’s 100 Most Influential Black Women in Sports in the World in 2022 and listed among ISPO’s 30 Female Changemakers Shaping the Future of Sports. Prior to her role with the NBA, she founded and served as Managing Partner at BMGA Enterprise Limited (BMGA), an educational technology finishing school aimed at enhancing productivity for individuals and organizations.

Additionally, Gbemisola established the BMGA Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting gender equity in the African business landscape.
