Florence Nakimbugwe Nsubuga possesses over two decades of invaluable experience in the energy sector, establishing herself as a prominent leader. For the past decade, she has demonstrated exemplary leadership as the Chief Operating Officer of Umeme, Uganda’s foremost electricity distribution company. Leading a team of over 1,600 dedicated staff, Florence has played a pivotal role in enhancing Uganda’s energy sector, making it more appealing to international investors.
Throughout her illustrious career, Florence has been recognized for her outstanding contributions, earning prestigious accolades such as the Outstanding Woman in Energy award at the 2015 African Utility Week and being named among Africa’s Most Influential Women by CEO Holdings.
Florence lends her expertise as an advisory board member for e-GUIDE (Electricity Growth and Use in Developing Economies), contributing to initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable energy solutions.
