Barbara Salami

Barbara Salami serves as the VP of Digital for Commercial at Moderna, where she spearheads the strategic development of a cutting-edge digital experience tailored for patients, healthcare providers, and associated stakeholders. With a wealth of experience, Barbara spent five years at GlaxoSmithKline, holding key positions such as global head of multichannel analytics and insights, as well as US Pharma head of digital and customer experience optimization. Prior to GSK, she made impactful contributions at esteemed organizations including Shire (now Takeda), Bristol Myers Squibb, AstraZeneca, and Aetna, among others.

Throughout her career, Barbara has been instrumental in introducing and leading various value-creating initiatives, ranging from media optimization and campaign management to agile omnichannel  experience delivery and marketing experimentation. She is a passionate advocate for STEM education, gender parity, and diversity and inclusion, particularly emphasizing clinical trial diversity.

Barbara holds an MBA from Pennsylvania State University and a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University. Beyond her professional endeavors, Barbara finds joy in her family life. She and her husband Allen are proud parents of three children. In her leisure time, Barbara enjoys immersing herself in good music, dancing, and preparing ethnic Nigerian dishes. She also shares her husband’s passion for soccer, becoming a fan of FC Barcelona, PSG, and Liverpool through his enthusiasm for the sport.
