Antoinette Sassou Nguesso is the First Lady of the Republic of the Congo, married to President Denis Sassou Nguesso. She has served as First Lady during her husband’s two presidential terms: from 1979 to 1992 and from 1997 to the present.
A retired teacher, she founded the Congo Assistance Foundation on May 7, 1984, focusing on humanitarian efforts within the country. As a mother, Antoinette balances her family life with her public duties. Her commitment to social causes is evident through her foundation’s work, which aims to improve the lives of Congolese citizens.
