Pearl Nkrumah
Tribute
In Ghana's banking sector, Pearl Nkrumah makes history as Access Bank's first female Executive Director while making memories with her children that no corporate milestone could ever match. We celebrate the way she reviews financial reports and school essays with equal attention, conducts both stock exchange meetings and family councils with genuine respect for all voices, and demonstrates that a woman's professional influence and maternal impact can multiply rather than divide her effectiveness.
Profile
Pearl Nkrumah is the Executive Director of Retail and Digital Banking at Access Bank Ghana Plc, a position she assumed in February 2022. She is the first woman to hold this role since the bank’s inception in 2009 and serves as a member of its nine-member Board of Directors and Executive Management Team. In her leadership, she prioritizes a digital-first approach, client-centric banking, and leveraging data-driven strategies to create impactful partnerships. Before joining Access Bank, she was the Head of Main Market and Ecosystems at Stanbic Bank Ghana, where she played a key role in driving business growth and financial inclusion. She is also credited with establishing the Youth Banking Desk at Stanbic Bank Ghana, an initiative aimed at increasing financial access for young people. Beyond her corporate achievements, Pearl Nkrumah is also a mother, a role that has shaped her professional and personal growth. However, she believes that with determination and support from organizations, women can overcome these challenges and excel in both areas. Pearl holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Ghana and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Leicester, UK. She is passionate about gender equity, empowerment, education, and entrepreneurship, aligning with Access Bank’s commitment to supporting women’s initiatives.
