Patience Akyianu is a distinguished banker currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Hollard Insurance Ghana. Under her leadership, the company has strengthened its position in the insurance sector, driving strategic growth and innovation. Prior to this, she was the Managing Director of Barclays Bank Ghana (now Absa Bank Ltd) from 2013, where she implemented international financial reporting standards and enhanced organizational transparency. She previously held key leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank, including Chief Financial Officer for South Africa and the broader African regional operations. Her extensive contributions to the finance industry have earned her numerous accolades, including African Female Business Leader of the Year (2021), Finance CEO of the Year (2017), and an induction into the Global Women Leaders Hall of Fame (2014). Patience’s academic foundation is equally impressive, beginning at Wesley Girls’ Senior High School in Cape Coast, followed by a first-class honors degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Ghana Business School. She further earned an MBA in Finance from the same institution. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is a proud mother of two, balancing her demanding career with family life.
