Joke Silva is a distinguished actress, director, and businesswoman, widely regarded as one of the most talented and respected figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She began her acting career in the early 1980s and has since become a household name in Nigeria and beyond. Beyond acting, Silva is the Assistant Chairman of the Lufodo Group, a stage and film production company she co-founded with her husband, veteran actor Olu Jacobs. Throughout her illustrious career, Silva has appeared in numerous stage plays, television series, and movies, showcasing her versatility and acting prowess. Some of her notable works include ’30 Days’ (2006), ‘The Secret Laughter of Women’ (1998), and ‘Phone Swap’ (2012). In recognition of her contributions to the film industry, she has received several awards, including the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2nd Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2006 for her role in ‘Women’s Cot’.
